iPhone 5 Release on 15 October FT CEO Say

A release date! But not quite yet.

According to Mac4Ever, France Telecom CEO Stéphane Richard, has spilled the beans on the iPhone 5 release date, which he claims is on October 15th.
Although he hasn’t backed his claims with solid evidence, (he might just be spit-balling, as rumors are circulating about theiPhone 5 release being “mid” October) being a CEO of a major telecom company does give credence to his words, as a person of his stature sometimes get “inside” info on these type of things.
His words:
“If I believe what we heard, the iPhone 5 will be released on October 15.”
Richard has a tendency to be quite open with the press, this is evident with his recent discussion of Apple’s plans to “eliminate” SIM cards with the use of a built in “e-SIM”, which is frowned upon by most carriers.

There is a discrepancy to Richard’s comments to the press though, like the day of the launch. If it were to be on the 15th, it would fall on a Saturday, which is an unusual day for Apple as they prefer to launch stuff on Thursdays or Fridays.
There are other dates floating around as well, like the 14th (Friday) and even a week earlier on the 7th.
